I am a Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist based in Broomfield, Chelmsford, practising since 2011 after a long career in Local Government and voluntary work with Victim Support. My commitment to therapy is rooted in my own life experiences, including early bereavement and periods of depression, and in my belief that a safe, non‑judgmental space with a compassionate, well‑trained therapist can be life‑changing. My work is informed by Mindfulness, Meditation and Buddhism, alongside training in Mindfulness‑Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety and OCD, and a year of EMDR training to support trauma recovery.

I am an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a member of the Hypnotherapy Society, with additional qualifications in stress management and EMDR. I work within the BACP ethical framework and maintain full confidentiality in a secure, private setting, following best practice in data protection and record‑keeping.

Zen Garden Stones
  • ‘I can’t stop thinking about things over and over, I am so overwhelmed,

  • ‘Door handles are a problem, the germs, I can just stand there, stuck’

  • 'My father was difficult to read, I would hear a thud sometimes’

  • ‘I was there, he died in front of me, I just cannot stop the image’

  • ‘I wake up at 5.000 in the morning filled with anxiety’

  • I feel lost, I am not sure I know who I am or why I am still in this relationship, I need to untangle this’

These are kind of words I hear expressed to me in my clinic, sometimes after weeks of working together.  They are every day words, but sometimes it can take a long time for someone to admit that they need help. It may be the first time those words have been said to anyone out loud.  For this reason I believe it is a privilege to be the therapist chosen to help with someone’s healing journey.
